Last Weekend for GOTV
February 29th, 2008 Posted in Events | No Comments »It’s getting down to crunch time now. We all have busy lives and lots of things going on, but it’s rare in life that you have an opportunity to directly and profoundly change the course of your country. Please donate as much time as you have between now and March 4th to help Senator Obama.
We all know how high the stakes are. If Obama wins Texas it could very well end the Democratic race for president, and Harris County is crucial to his efforts. We need people to canvass, makes calls, and organize for voting day and the caucuses.
Houston Superdelegate switches to Obama
February 28th, 2008 Posted in News | No Comments »The AP reports that State Representative Senfronia Thompson has switched her support from Senator Clinton to Senator Obama. Rep. Thompson represents parts of Northeast Houston and Humble.
“I’m honored to have earned the support of Representative Thompson and am pleased that she’ll play an important role in advancing our grassroots movement for change in Houston and across Texas,” Obama said in a statement. “Throughout her three decades in the Legislature, she’s been a tireless advocate for working families and when I’m president we’ll work together to put the American dream within reach of every child in Texas and across our country.”
Thompson, one of the longest serving Democrats in the state House, is one of the party insiders who, as a superdelegate, help choose the Democratic nominee at the national convention this summer in Denver.
Last Debate Tonight

Brian Williams and Tim Russert will moderate the debate hosted by Cleveland State University. This will be the last chance for voters to see the candidates head-to-head before the primaries on March 4th, and potentially the last debate of the primary season.

This compares with a 50% to 48% edge for Clinton in the same poll last week. Both results are within the margin of error, meaning it’s a statistical dead heat.
